I wish I knew you all as well as you know each other but...what can I do? I had my surgery on September 25...Aetna approved me in a little over 28 hours! I am home now and doing much better that a week ago! I had everything done laproscopically. September 11 when I was told to start the atkins diet I weighed in at 247 and today I weigh 221. I am excited and look forward to getting up and doing something everyday! Now, I will say, I am a BABY when it comes to any type of pain and I did NOT prepare myself for the pain! I had surgery on a Monday, left the hospital on that Thursday and did not get out of bed (unless I had to****il they next Wednesday. I am getting better. I am at my Mom's visiting today and my husband has been wonderful! He told me today that you can definately tell I am losing weight and that I am "getting hot". Can you imagine how good that feels? Well, just wanted to say hello and update eveyone. I cannot wait to get a computer at home and be able to talk to you guys more frequently. And Rachel...If you are reading this, you have been in my thoughts! Hope you are doing well. Jodie

Jodie! I have been thinking about you. I understand about the pain. I don't do well with pain but my biggest problem has been the head hunger. I am so freaking hurgry for grease, fat, sweets, anything I can't have. This has been the hardest part for me and the diarrhea that started today. Gotta learn to never trust a fart!!! LOL!! I'm glad that you are doing better. Take care! Rachel

Never trust a fart I've been reading your profile for a while now Rachel... Glad you're home and doing " OK " ... I hope the head hunger goes away... ( and I meant reading your profile for inspiration.. not from a "STALKER" stand point ) Don't wanna give anyone the wrong idea...

Go ahead and read all you want. I read tons of them when just starting to consider surgery. It helps understand what were are getting into. Rachel

I wish you well. I am thinking of going to the next seminar Dr. *****ett has at Baptist. Is that the only place he does the surgery?

Hi Jodie, I am new to the forum and the site. I also had my surgery on the 25th. The pain was not to bad for me. I have a pretty good tolerance to pain. Have you noticed how just about every commercial (even those selling pesticides!) have some sort of food!?!?! :-@ (If the pictures are in the wrong place, oops, I have never done this before.) Well, I pray for a speedy recovery for all of us newbies!!! God bless, Cheri
