INFO ON VISTA VITAMINS
I THINK I'M HAVING SOME BRAIN FARTS
DOES ANY ONE TAKE THESE? IF SO CAN YOU ANSWER THIS? THE BOX SAYS: 1 PACKAGE (4CAPS) IS A SERVING SIZE. WHICH ACCORDING TO THE BACK OF THE BOX CALCIUM IS 150mg, B12 IS 120mcg, AND IRON IS 4mg TO NAME JUST A FEW.
IS THIS PER CAPSULE OR PER PACKAGE?
ACCORDING TO INFO FROM DR. BRYNE'S BOOKLET WE SHOULD BE TAKING 1200 - 1500mg OF CALCIUM, 325mg OF IRON AND 500mcg OF B12.
PLEASE HELP, I'M SO CONFUSED, HAVE FALLEN AND CAN'T GET UP, TO FAT.
THANKS, DONNA

Donna,
To be honest with you, I never sat and figured it out, but like I had stated before, I took the chewables in the first 3 months.....4 chewables per day with meals
Then after 3 months, I went to the capsules and right now "I" take only 4 capsules per day, or 1 packet per day because of my kidney stone issue and my blood work has ALWAYS been perfect
Don't obsess about what Byrne's booklet says, I told him what I took and that it was bariatric vitamins, showed him the box, and he said I was better off than other patients, so please, please don't worry about it. You are fine!!!
I just would personally not take the capsules right now, its too early. I would order the chewables though, as they are made for early post ops.
I know Lady D takes Vistas and I do, but not sure if anyone else does.
I also showed the vista capsules to my new pcp, and she said they were great, and all my cbc's and protein, iron, calciums are pefect and I only do 1 packet (AM or PM) per day...same difference, doesn't matter.
Hope this helps, don't obsess over the little things, just take what the box says, and not to worry about extra supplements, as you don't need them. All the other peeps I talked to who took Vistas said they have never been told to take extra calciums or iron or anything extra.
Take care, have a great weekend ;-D
Deb

Deb,
thanks for the info. As a nurse we tend to read all the fine print and the numbers just didn't add up.
I'm obsessing alittle because as you May have read my mom has just been diagnosed w/ lung cancer and I want to be able to be of help to her when I get home from the hosp.
I do realize I'll be tired and sore and adjusting to a new way of life. But mom has been here for us (my sister and myself) all our lives (we're both single) and I want to be here for her when she needs us most.
Again thanks for the info.
Donna
