He may have given you the ibuprofen instead of the Tylenol becasue of your enlarged liver. Speaking as a big liver girl, before surgery I was always told to never take Tylenol.
This made things very confusing after surgery. So I avoid all pain meds (and PAIN
) as much as possible.
However, right after surgery, I toook what the doc gave me. I didn't care what it was. He's the doc right? He has our best interests at heart.
If you are still concerened, call the office. Hang in there! Call if you need anything. 270-3247

Did you take advil at all after surgery? I feel like I need some pain relief right now but I don't want to have the loopy feelings. I save those for my dreams.
Speaking of dreams, last night I dreamed that all of you ladies came to my house for a party and everybody enjoyed all the no no foods of the past!!!
Can we say mourning?

I have taken advil and tylenol both since surgery.
I now mainly keep tylenol around becasue I figure since my liver has gotten better, its ok.
And lets talk about dreams...I had a dream about an all you can eat dessert buffet where I ate everything in sight and I woke up FULL!!! I even posted about it.
I CRIED for food for the first couple of weeks. This morning there were 8 dozen Krispy Kreme donuts in front of my desk. REally cute ones too decorated like pumpkins and footballs. I'm walking around making all the skinny people eat them so they can be GONE! Don't get me wrong, they smell great, but it is soooo easy to resist them now. It will be that way for you too. I promise.

Dr. Bour gave me Combinox (sp?) It is ibuprofen and a narcotic. Loved it!!!!!! I think that is what he prescribes. I think that ibuprofen and tylenol in general are ok in small doses. You can ask him about yourself particularly. I have taken Tylenol and ibuprofen occasionally sinc surgery with no problems. Now I do not have liver problems which would interfere with the metabolism of Tylenol. I have found that since surgery I don't require 1/100th of the advil/tylenol I use to take. I just don't have the pain that I used to have.
