6 months weightloss management

hi,did any of you have to go thru 6 months of superfised weightloss management. in orderfor medicaid to pay anything on the surgery. .i had to go .i was wonderiing if anybody else had to do it,too..thanks rita

Rita, I think some of Dr. Byrne's patients did for their insurance companies, but he told us that it was just a box to check off, and if you lose too much weight, you won't meet the standards anymore, so do your "6 month supervised diet" and don't lose too much. I know MUSC offers this and will do the insurance papers for it. Not sure how far you are or where you plan to do the surgery, but they (MUSC) will handle this. Good Luck!! Deb

thank you deb for answering my post.dr strickland in lexington is my doctor i got 3 more months to go with the weightloss management .. then i don't know what i will have to do next, i lost 18 lbs in 3 months..i went back this week and they said i lost 14 lbs in 6 weeks.. i couldn't believe it .i haven't been sticking to my diet..i am on a diabetic diet.. i have medicaid and medicare..rita
