Plastic Consult Oct 11, Help!!!
I have been planning on plastic surgery after I hit my goal weight and maintained it a while. Ten pounds to go (I've hit Dr B's, this is mine).
We found at at work that our wonderful MUSC Options insurance is changing. NO MORE obesity surgery, no more plastics (unless extremely medically necessary). So I have to go ahead and plan for a breast reduction and tummy tuck before Dec. 31.
I am okay with the reduction, I've had significant back pain and was planning on doing that soon anyway, but I don't feel ready for the tuck. Is it okay that I'm ten pounds away from goal?
HELP please, I'm freaking out
Mary
I think the goal really is the Dr.'s- the way I see it and I could be wrong, the extra pounds that you want to lose is that excess skin anyway!! Who are you planning on seeing? I guess if I want plastics I should consider it- I did not know MUSC options was changing!!!!! Do you know how difficult it is to get approved for plastics?
Its easy if you have medical reason. If your stomach hangs past your pubic line and you have documented cases of rashes, you get approved for that usually. The reduction is easier, documented back issues and rashes.
I am going to Dr Young and Widenhouse at Palmetto Plastic Surgery. I've asked the Doctor's who work here, they say they are good.
I called the insurance lady at the office, she said to bring my paperwork to my consult and it will speed things up. She also told me what the insurance company is looking for in order to approve it.
Call me, my cell is 303-4751

Lucky Girl!!
First, congrats!!!
Second, my plastics doc told me 10-20 lbs will not matter, and you will lose from the surgery anyway...but remember you will gain a little bit from swelling and water, so don't freak when you gain after your surgery, you should know this from working there, but yeah, that won't matter at all.
Go for it!!! I am so happy for you!!
