Hey Becky,
Salt is very important as it keeps open all the systems in our bodies, and keeps our electrolytes balanced and is related to calcium and calcium is related to our nervous systems and how are heart works with everything....that is very, very basic layman terms.
Get him drinking lots of gatorade, that has good salts and will balance out his electrolytes.
DRINK UP!!
My urologist told me to keep drinking the propel which is gatorade for gastric bypass patients...keeps our electrolytes balanced too. Since surgery, I have only drank Propel, Walmart sells the big jugs of it for $1 each, and it is not the kind with the sports top, but the regular bottle you pour into a cup.
So, go to walmart and buy some propel for you and gatorade for him. The commissarry also sells it pretty cheap and you can buy gatorade in the powder form. Kids tend to sweat out a lot and they need to replace their salts. Low salt can cause seizures and that is not good.
I will definitely be praying, keep drinking and keep him hydrated
Love you,
God Bless
Deb
