UPDATE ON MS CHERYL

I'M GONNA TAKE HER TO ST FRANCIS TOMORROW. THEY WILL PUT HER TO SLEEP & INJECT MEDICATION INTO HER NECK AREA HOPING THIS WILL RELIEVE HER HORRIBLE PAIN & STIFFNESS. THE MRI SHOWED A NARROWING, BULGING DISK, BONE SPURS/ARTHRITIS & SOME NERVE DAMAGE IN THE SPINE AREA FROM THE SHOULDERS TO HER SKULL WHICH COULD BE THE CAUSE OF HER PAIN. BUT, IT ALSO SHOW WEIRD "AIR POCKETS" IN HER ESOPHOGOUS (sp?) BUT THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THEY REALLY ARE. SINCE GB SURGERY SHE HAS ALWAYS SAID THAT IT FEELS LIKE HER FOOD GETS STUCK IN HER THROAT. WE'RE WONDERING IF THERE WAS A LITTLE DAMAGE DONE FROM THE TUBES DOWN HER THROAT ... DAMAGE THAT WASN'T NOTICED UNTIL NOW. LATELY, JUST SWALLOWING CAUSES HER TREMENDOUS PAIN SO THE "AIR POCKETS" MAY BE ANOTHER CAUSE OF PAIN FOR HER. ANYWAY, SHE HAS TO HAVE A CAT SCAN ON THE THROAT AREA TO SEE IF THEY CAN GET A BETTER VIEW OF THE EFFECTED AREA. THEY ARE IN THE PROCESS OF SETTING UP THE CAT SCAN APPOINTMENT. GOD BLESS ... Dawn, Please give Cheryl My love and let her know that she is in my thoughts. I couldn't imagine trying to deal with as much pain as seh is in plus taking care of a brand new little one. I really pray that the Dr's are able to give her some reliefe today! PLease keep us updated as to how everything goes! Love Kylee

Dawn, Please let Cheryl know that she's in my prayers. Her MRI sounds like what mine showed with my back. I just had my second set of injections Friday for my sciatic problems, its been a miracle so far. I can move now and I had been in such horrible pain that I wasn't functioning hardly at all. Tell her that after my injection I was extremely sore and depressed about it for 2 days, then it felt wonderful. Email or call me if either of you need anything. Love, Mary

Like I just posted to Ms Kylee, I've forwarded your post to Ms Cheryl. I know your info will help her hold on until she feels relief. You know that she is one tough lady but this situation has her really down, so knowing that in a couple days she'll feel better will be a real encouragement to her. They said that sometimes the patient will need another injection & that she can have up to 3 injections over a short period of time. She goes to another Doc Wednesday to find out what they need to do to diagnose the "air pockets" in her esaphogous. I can't be with her for that appointment as I'll be staying with my Momma while Daddy goes to Bible Study & does some errands but when I find out something, I'll pass it on. I don't know how y'all do it with college on top of everything else, Ms Mary ... We salute all of you! How much longer do you have until you finish school? Oh, that is the best news that your back is doing better!!!!! What are you going to do about the breast reduction/lift? Still going to have that surgery? How is your weight loss journey going? Weight loss is SSSLLLOOOWWWW but still losing, I started at 284, I've been 169.5, but have been hovering around the low 170s. Now that I can exercise again hopefully I will get to 160 which is my goal. Reduction is still on go. I don't know when but will have it before Christmas, as my insurance will be changing. How are you and Nick? I can't wait to meet Mason. I'm available for free babysitting whenever Cheryl needs it.

BUT WE'RE BIG LOSERS, MS MARY, & THAT'S THE BOTTOM LINE!!!! YOU'RE RUNNING AT A 115 # LOSS ... THAT'S NOTHIN' TO SNEEZE AT ... THAT'S WONDERFUL!!! I'M SITTIN' AT 94 #s & HAVE 1 1/5 MONTHS TO GO TO MY 1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY. I WANT TO BE AT 100 # LOSS BY THEN. OH GEEZ, THERE'S THAT AWFUL WORD ... EXERCISE ... I REMEMBER WHEN I WAS IN MY TEENS & 20s AT 118 #s TO THE 120s BUT I THINK I'M BEING A BIT OVER ZEALOUS GOING FOR THOSE #s SO 140 IT IS & WE'LL SEE FROM THERE. WHAT HELPED YOU WITH YOUR BACK PAIN? MEDS OR TREATMENTS? LET ME KNOW WHEN YOU'RE HAVING YOUR REDUCTION ... I'M VERY INTERESTED IN A LIFT SO I'D BE INTERESTED IN THE PROCESS YOU HAVE TO GO THROUGH & THE RESULTS YOU ACHIEVE.
