NEW TO FORUM

HEY to everyone, new to the south carolina forum. Although I live in N.C. (property line is n/s carolina boarder) I spend most of my working and leasure time in S.C. I'm scheduled for surgery 10/13 w/ Dr. Byrne at MUSC but am being given the round around w/ ins. Co. So what else is new. This just makes me more determined than ever. Ins. Is medcost preferred w/ acs as a third party. They're now requesting a 6 mo diet w/exercise plan. Had my plan administrator call acs and will accept a letter from pcp re: diet plan and inability to exercise due to asthma then will give me a decision. Wonderful of her. If she doesn't give the go ahead, we'll just jump through her hoops and do the pcp/dietician wt. Loss program. Thank you all for letting me vent. Hope to join everyone on the losing side soon. Donna

Welcome to the board. Dr. Byrne is WONDERFUL and you will love him and his staff.....hang in there, lots of us went through insurance woes and prevailed, you will get there! Let us know if you have any questions or if we can be of help, and when you come to the Lowcountry, don't forget to come visit the LCBBs on Thursday night. PAM, THANKS FOR WELCOMING ME TO THE FORUM. AS FAR AS THE INSURANCE PROBLEMS WE WILL PREVAIL. I'LL DO WHAT'S EVER NEEDED, JUMP THRU HOOPS, CLICK MY HEELS THREE TIMES, ANYTHING THAT WILL GET THEM TO APPROVE THE SURGERY, EVEN IF I HAVE TO WAIT THE SIX MONTHS W/ AN APPROVED DIET PROGRAM. THEY CAN FORGET THE EXERCISE, I CAN WALK DOWN THE HALL AT THE HOSP. I WORK AT AND WILL GET SHORT OF BREATH, (ASTHMA) THANKS AGAIN, DONNA

Hi dianne, thanks for welcoming me to the board and for the prayers. I most certainly keep you all posted w/ any and all updates. Infact I just completed a letter of my own to go along w/ my pcp's that will be faxed to ins. Co. Also to make things look even better I'm faxing one of my menu planners. I fiqure the more persistant I am the more tired she'll get hearing from me and will approve the surgery. (((((((((((hugs back at ya from donna))))))))))))))

Hi Donna! Just wanted to welcome you to the board. Good luck with Medcost/Acs. I hope that the PCP comes through for you. The staff at MUSC is awesome, and although Dr. Morgan did my surgery, Dr. Byrne has taken great care of a lot of my friends. Welcome to our humble group! Britt
