UGH!! I was trying so hard to keep things moving along, and now I'm constipated and uncomfortable! What is best to get things moving again? Is it okay to crush up a laxative? That's all I have, and I was trying to avoid a trip to the store.

I don't think I'd try a laxative. They can cause some nasty cramps! Look and see if you have any milk of magnesia or a non-stimulant stool softener. What stage food are you in? You may need to buy some benefiber and mix it in with your full liquids or pureeds. That would keep you regular too. You might as well go to the store and keep some of this stuff on hand. Its almost routine for me now. Kathy

Thanks, Kathy! I am still in the full liquid phase. I have been chewing 2 sf Fiber Choice tablets a day, hoping that would help. Maybe I need to chew more than 2 a day.

Thanks Sherry...I know I need to increase my water...not getting quite enough in. I didn't know that they would constipate without enough water...thanks for the tip!

I use Smooth Move Tea when that time comes and have not had any trouble with it. It is a natural laxative and works gently. I have found it at Earth Fare and Whole Foods. It is a hot tea that works in about 8-10 hours. I usually fix it with lemon water and a packet of sweetner. I have also used MOM but the pouch made all sorts of strange noises. Hugs Julie

Try some Three Ballerina Tea. I ordered it off of the internet but it works great!!! A cup a day will keep you REGULAR! Carmen

After so many rounds of narcotics from my plastic surgeries, you learn that suppositories work to give immediate relief
