Another step completed!!!

Hey everyone! Just wanted to tell you that I just got back from Dr. *****ett's office. I had my consultation today. And to everyone who has said how sweet Judy is, you are sooo right!! She told me that I would get my appointments for the phsyc eval and my 3 month classes but they couldn't give them to me because they were at lunch. The girl up front said I will get a call from them today letting me know when my next couple of appointments will be!! She also said that MAYBE my surgery can be as soon as SEPTEMBER!!! I cannot wait!!! Just wanted to fill everyone in!! Jodie

Hey, I'm new to the SC board but I wanted to pop in and say hi and CONGRATS!!! I can wait until I'm hearing news like that!

Congrats on getting the ball rolling. We are insurance buddies and we are in the same boat with things. I think we have talked before but I am terrible with remembering who I have told what!!! I also have Aetna and just got everything started for my surgery. It may be September when I get my surgery too!! I already had my psych eval and I have an appointment with the nutritionist and the psychologist on July 13. Then Dr. Bour on Aug 1. Insurance packet will be submitted on Aug. 2. I hope Aetna is good about getting back with an approval. They have been awesome so far. Let's hope they don't let us down!!! Rachel

Hey Rachel. We have talked before. So, hello again! The nurse that I saw ywsterday told me that Aetna is really good about getting the approval done if you have done everything they ask of you. I specifically asked "How long after you submit to the insurance company do you generally get a respone"? She told me that with Aetna it is usually a week!!! So, I am soo excited! I have not heard back from my doctor's office about my next appointments but, I plan on calling today and asking. How was the psych eval? Keep in touch! We will see each other through this! Jodie

The psych eval was really goofy!!! I don't know how your doctor will do it but I had to answer like 500 true/false questions like "I hear voices that aren't really there," "I like the hurt animals," and "I have strange sexual desires" Also there were strange ones like "I would like to be a librarian," and "I would like to work in construction." I am not sure how they applied to me but oh well. IT just took a long time to complete but it was painless. I go back on July 13 to meet with the Shrink to find out the results and if I am crazy.
