I'm not hungry. It has been so hot all I want to do is drink water all day. To be honest, if I could get away with just drinking ice water all day and not eating, I would! I NEVER thought I'd say that. And I have a short term goal. (read my profile for details) and I know I will not continue to lose if I don't eat well. Its frustrating. Anyway, I am getting tired of the things I have been eating. Mostly chicken & tuna salad, turkey chili, cheese sticks, protien bars, cottage cheese and fruit. My cravings have been gone since I started staying away from pasta and other starchy foods, so I'd like to continue keeping those out of my diet. Any ideas for different foods? I can tolerate almost anything as long as I eat slow and chew well. Even a new way to prepare chicken or beef would be great. I'm running out of ideas! Kathy

Ok, I have a couple of ideas.....meatloaf. I made some last week and it was so good I am making more tonight. Roast...is another. I cook it in the crock pot all day so it just falls apart with a fork...add garlic, onions and pepper...so good!!!! I have also made a chicken pot pie with diced chicken, veg all veggies, cr of chick soup and put it in a pie crust. I don't eat the pie crust or corn, but my family loves it. A new protein shake.....vanilla protein powder, frozen strawberries, 8 oz milk (8 grams of protein) and splenda. It is just like a strawberry milk shake!!!! I read your new goal....and you will so make it. You have done just awesome so far. Just push the protein girl!!!!!!!! Melissa

Thanks Melissa! Where did you get your meatloaf recipe? Does it have the usual ketchup and brown sugar glaze? I guess I could just eat around that... What brand of Vanilla protien powder do you use? I tried the Isopure Vanilla a couple of times and absolutely hated it. The shake sounds really good, I have always loved strawberry shakes. Plus it will be good for the summertime since there is NO ice cream for me. (Haagen Daas may go out of business because of my surgery!! ) Kathy

The meatloaf is my own recipe. very lean gr. beef 1 egg 1/2 pack lipton golden onion soup mix 1/8-1/4 c. of italian style bread crumbs garlic pepper titch of A1 titch of mustard titch of ketchup mix it all up and I don't put a glaze on top. As far as the protein...I picked up some Body Fortress premium whey protein at walmart. It has 20 grams per scoop. It is a concentrate and isolate mix. I just wanted something different, so I bought it. I haven't tried the isopure vanilla yet. I may just pick up a couple of small packs to try. I buy my isopure chocolate at GNC in the 3 pound container. Thanks for the warning!!!! I would hate to buy 3 pounds of the vanilla and hate it!!!!

kathy, i am there with you. only nothing sounds good. i FINALLY got down some soup last night and oatmeal (weight control made with milk for x-tra protein) this morning. but before that i had gone back to clear liquids for three days. just drinking orange-pineapple healthwise drinks (blah). i am still on pureed foods until tues. but at this rate i just don't know when i'll have the desire to eat again.

Who would think that us "big" girls would complain about having to eat? Our lives are definitely different now! Food is no longer fun so we just want to drop it altogether. Once you are off of pureeds, you may be happier with your choices and the actual CHEWING will make it easier to want to eat. Just make sure you keep up with your protien, fluids and vitamins!! This getting healthy sure is alot of work! Kathy

I know what you mean Kathy, eating the same things gets old quick. I've tried a few new things; Flank steak cut into thin stips, marinated for at least 2 hrs in teryaki sauce, fresh minced garlic, onion powder, ground ginger, and a little splenda. then stir fry on high heat with a little olive oil, or vegetable oil, the steak, chopped onions, and oriental mixed veggies till done. Yummy, yummy, yummy!! You can also use chicken in place of the steak. Baked lemon or orange chicken. roll a lemon or orange on the kitchen counter till soft. Then with a fork poke holes in the fruit. squeeze the juice of the fruit over a whole baking chicken. Then stuff the chicken with the remaining lemon or orange. Season the outside of the chicken with garlic powder, season salt, pepper(use lemon pepper for the lemon chicken). bake at 350 till done. I eat the meat sliced on top of fresh baby spinach leaves. Mexican Dip Brown a lb of lean ground beef, 1 cup of chopped onion and 1 tbsp of minced garlic. Then add a pkg of taco seasoning(follow directions on pkg) Then in a casserol dish layer; fat free refried beans, shredded sharp cheddar cheese, softened ff cream cheese, the beef mixture, a jar of salsa of your choice(I use a black bean and corn salsa, then pick out the corn), top of the dip with a layer of the shredded cheddar. bake at 350 till bubbley. I eat this by itself, my family has it with resteraunt style tortilla chips. Girlfiend you'll make your goal, I have the utmost confidence in you. Tonya
