Need Job/Insurance Suggestions
I need help and I know someone out there has suggestions! I have posted very little--so here's the short version of my story. I am a Greenville County School District employee which it seems under NO cir****tances will cover wls. I would like to change jobs this summer so that I can obtain insurance coverage that WILL cover wls. But--and here is the BIG but--I don't want to work full time. I want a part-time job that will offer insurance. I have three young children that I just do not want to put in daycare year round. I know, I know--I want it all!
I have thought about getting my CNA and working for one of the hospitals. I know that St. Francis covers wls (thanks to Melissa!). What about GHS? Anyone know?
I know that Verizon Wireless offers insurance to part time people. I have no idea if their insurance covers wls. Any suggestions as to who offers insurance to part timers that will also cover wls?
I had an emergency lap band removal in December. I have gained back almost all of my weight. Trust me, the rest of it is on it's way! I need this surgery sooo badly. I am so miserable.
Thanks for any help.
Cyndi
i'm not sure if unifirst (a uniform company) offers insurance to part-timers but it couldn't hurt to try. my husband works there and i was approved within 30 days of submitting the pre-approval. he started in november and our coverage became active 3/1/06. i had my surgery 5/15. you can try going online to see what is available. unifirst.com. i can ask my husband about openings when he gets home. good luck and i am so sorry for your troubles.
hey Sherry,
My very best friend's husband's grandfather, catch that?? Started and his dad owns Unifirst! Small world!! Aldo Croatti. He is a pilot for American Airlines, and was in the Air Force with my hubby, but they don't have to work, believe me, he and his wife are set for life!!!
Cyndi,
I think Lowe's, Walmart, Home Depot, and Sam's/Costco might offer it. I know Lowes used to when I had worked there years back. I would go online and google it and see what companies offer what benefits for part time workers. I think by law they have to offer something, but you need to find out what plan they have and then research on google, should be lots of info, what plans cover wls and also what criteria they have if they do.
I am so sorry you gained all your weight back, that is soooo sad ! I am so sorry for you!!
Keep you chin up, I know now MUSC has a pay for it by cash plan and cannot remember how much it is. I think it is a straight 18k for everything. That sounds like a lot, but if you can finance it or get a 2nd mortgage or whatever you have to do, you can have your surgery next week!!
Take care, and keep us informed!
God Bless, Deb
