Advocate for improved access to WLS The Obesity Action Coalition is asking for your assistance to help improve access to bariatric surgery in the state of South Carolina. The OAC has produced a guide that encourages direct advocacy by weight-loss surgery patients as well as those seeking weight-loss surgery. The guide walks you through the process of becoming an advocate and identifies key officials that need to be targeted. The guide can be found at: http://www.obesityaction.org/advocacy/southcarolina.php Raise your voice and join in our efforts to make sure that access to bariatric surgery and other obesity management services are available to all of those that require them. For those of you that are not familiar with the OAC, our organization was formed in 2005 after a legislator pointed out that those affected by obesity lacked a group that represented their interests. Our mission is to elevate and empower those affected by obesity through education, advocacy and support. Our key short-term goal is to improve access to the treatments of obesity. More information can be found on our Web site at www.obesityaction.org . Thank you, Joseph Nadglowski, Jr. President and CEO
