Carb Count - please help!
I'M NOT SURE I REMEMBER AN EXACT # FOR THE DAILY INTAKE OF CARBS ... REMEMBER THAT THERE ARE "GOOD" CARBS & "BAD" CARBS ... GOOD CARBS HAVE VIVID COLORS LIKE GREEN, RED & YELLOW VEGES & BROWN AS IN WHOLE GRAINS ... "BAD" CARBS ARE SUGAR CARBS & ANY FOOD THAT IS WHITE IN COLOR (BREAD, PASTA, FLOUR, ETC) & THEY REACT IN YOUR BLOOD STREAM THE SAME WAY PURE SUGAR DOES ... NOT GOOD.
WHEN LOOKING AT THE NUTRITION LABEL, A GOOD RULE OF THUMB IS TO LIMIT THE SUGAR CARBS TO NO MORE THAN 4 GRAMS "PER SERVING" ... THE "PER SERVING" IS IMPORTANT ... &, WATCH THE OVERALL CARB COUNT. IF IT'S UP IN THE 20s PER SERVING, THAT IS A LOT OF SUGAR ALCOHOL THAT YOU MAY REACT UNPLEASANTLY TO ... EACH PERSON TOLERATES IT DIFFERENTLY. I START GETTING FLUSHED & MY FACE GETS *****LY & THEN I FEEL LIKE I'M GONNA DUMP IF I GET A COMBO OF TOO MANY SUGAR CARBS & SUGAR ALCOHOLS.
EVEN BEING OUT 5 MONTHS & ABLE TO EAT A LITTLE MORE, YOU CAN AUTOMATICALLY LIMIT YOUR "BAD" CARBS (SUGAR & WHITE) BY EATING IN THE ORDER OF IMPORTANCE NUTRITIONALLY. THE ABSOLUTE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS WATER/NO CALORIE-NO SUGAR FLUIDS. DEHYDRATION IS OUR ACHILIES HEEL & FLUIDS WILL MAKE YOU FEEL FULLER & FLUSH TOXINS OUT OF YOUR SYSTEM. I HAVE AN ARTICLE ON MY PROFILE AS TO WHY WE SHOULD DRINK WATER IF YOU'D LIKE TO READ IT.
AS FOR EATING, IF YOU EAT IN THE FOLLOWING ORDER, YOUR "BAD CARBS" WILL BE LIMITED BECAUSE BY THE TIME YOU EAT OTHER THINGS BEFORE THEM, YOU'LL BE FULL. ONCE ON "REAL FOODS", ONE SHOULD EAT PROTEIN, DAIRY, GREEN VEGES, FRUITS, WHOLE GRAINS (in order of importance) ... & THEN ONLY THE SMALLEST AMOUNTS OF "WHITE CARBS" IF YOU CAN TOLERATE THEM &, ONLY IF YOU HAVE NOT GONE OVER YOUR DAY'S CALORIES.

I REFUSE TO EVER EAT ANY TREAT THAT IS SUGAR BASED ... SF & NSA IS ALL I LOOK FOR NOW. ALSO, I REFUSE TO EVER DRINK SUGAR-BASED SODA POP. BUT, THERE ARE TIMES I CRAVE WATERMELON (NATURAL SUGAR, BUT SUGAR ALL THE SAME) OR CRUNCHIES ... SO, I GET PUFFED QUAKER RICE, OR BETTER YET, SOY CRISPIES (MORE PROTEIN). A FEW BITES & MY CRAVINGS ARE GONE. YOUR TASTES WILL CHANGE & YOU'LL BEGIN TO WANT THE FOOD THAT IS BASED ON "GOOD CHOICES". A TREAT NOW & THEN WON'T DERAIL YOUR WEIGHT LOSS EFFORTS, BUT BE SURE THAT THEY ARE "BETTER" TREATS & LIMIT YOUR PORTION.
