Yard Sale Success!!

I just had a yard sale where I got rid of half my closet of clothes that don't fit. I advertised "plus sized womens clothing" in the paper and even though I had thunder, lightning and rain to deal with , I sold ALL of my clothes!!! I even sold them for what I was asking for them!! No hagglers!! I had one lady comment as she was looking through my clothes, "Boy, you have lost a lot of weight." She could tell that just by looking at my old clothes even though we had never met before! Of course I sung the praises of gastric bypass to her. One lady asked that I take her name and number so that I could pass it on to some of the ladies in the support groups that she was interested in buying clothes when we no longer needed them. Maybe we should get together and have a Mega-Yard sale specializing in gently used plus sized clothing. We'd probably all go broke buying each others clothes! Anyway, that (plus some of the other junk in my house) and I'm a few dollars richer and halfway done with spring cleaning! Kathy

Good for you Kathy, I can't imagine having the energy to hold a yard sale. Thanks for the hope! Melony

Melony, it will take some time, but you will get your energy back. I promise! You did a great thing for yourself and your health. Yard sales are alot of work, but getting rid of all those clothes and complete strangers boosting my ego made it worth it! Plus, now we have some gas money for our trip to Michigan next weekend. Glad to hear you made some moula!!!! The complements were an added bonus. Shoot, I probably would have given the stuff away to someone commenting on my weight loss. I hope you are having a great weekend!!! Melissa

Wow! Good for you, Kathy! I love the feeling of getting rid of stuff I don't need anymore, and making some money doing it is even better!!! I have been driving myself nuts -- I have NOTHING to wear, and I refuse to go and buy something that will fit me now ... not when my surgery is next week! Hopefully everybody won't get sick of seeing me in the same darn things over and over again. I am planning on hitting some consignment shops and thrift stores when my size drops a little. Congrats on your busy and profitable Saturday! Dawn

A Yard Sale, what a "GREAT" idea!!! I was soooooooo glad to be out of those 26's, 24's, and 22's...I couldn't get to the Goodwill fast enough!!! My closet is sooooooooo empty, but I'm not complaining. There will just be that much more room for my NEW, SKINNIER CLOTHES ...and lots of them Now if I could make these size 20's history, I could put the 20's to rest for good!! SOON, real SOON!!! Tonya
