It's Melony's Turn!

Just wanted to publicly congratulate one of the sweetest ladies I've ever met, and wish her the best of EVERYTHING this week. Dawn, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I'm so very excited! I don't feel any anxiety or fear, only peace and excitement, as if this was meant to be. No questions in my mind at all, only confidence and assurance. Peace is with me. I am getting plenty of Things are crystal clear to me right now. I am wrapped in God's loving arms and I know it. I can't even express how it feels, only that I am safe and can feel it. Thank you God! You all know I home school, and every morning we start with the Lord's Prayer and Pledge of Allegance. Well, this morning, my 13 year old son, Brandon, grabbed my hand and said, "Momma let's pray about your surgery. I have some anxiety and I don't like that feeling." We did pray and cry and pray and cry and now everything is O.K. The journey to surgery is almost at an end. I've nearly reached my destination and will soon embark on the most exciting, life-changing event. I feel "blessed" (TY Lady D). I know God has led me down this path. I found myself telling my family that whatever the outcome, God led me down this path. My advance directive is very clear to my entire family. Thank you Dawn for being such a good friend. Melony~ I was so happy to read your reply. That was exactly how I went into my surgery.....completely at peace. I was so happy to not have anxiety, or fear. I was smiling as they rolled me in the OR. I knew that it was all a part of the His plan. I have never once felt regret since having it done. Even when I was doing clear liquids...I knew it would be better, and didn't give it a second thought. I am so happy for you!!! You are soooo beautiful and you have such a beautiful spirit. I know you will go throught this with flying colors. I have been praying for you and will continue to pray as your day approaches! We are all here for you if you need anything!!!!!! Melissa

Well Melony it's full steam ahead Sista'!!! I too had the same Peace. It's an awesome feeling to feel God like that isn't it? WOW! I got goosebumps just thinking about it Knowing what lies ahead...I'm soooooooooooo joyful, eager, happy, and overcome with excitement for you. Melony, YOU are excited!! I can't imagine that!! You are so full of energy now...I can't even imagine how you are going to be after surgery. I love your attitude. Today I'm watering-in and feeding all my flowers and letting the birds and butterflies know I'll be back soon. All my house preparations are complete and my wonderful neighbors are helping with my kids. People just came out of the woodwork. Ask and you shall receive. I plan on resting, but I feel just great! I'm going for a final swim this morning and final walk around the neighborhood. It's almost time. See you on the losing side! p.s. I'm a great patient -- I think. At least I try to be. Hugs, Melony

Hi Melissa! I missed y'all SO much on Thursday night. My trip was alright, but not as much fun as I had hoped. I just wanted to be home! I met my sister's friend, who had gastric bypass 2 years ago ... and she laughed at most of my questions! She said she never exercised, hardly ever took vitamins, never quit smoking before surgery, never drank the protien drinks after surgery ... and her final advice to me: Stay AWAY from "that" website!!! (meaning OH). It felt almost as if she was trying to make me feel stupid! She rolled her eyes when I drank an Optifast while she was there. Wow ... I had to just remind myself of all that I have learned at Dr. Bour's. I have no doubt that she will run into problems down the road. I had to come home and shake off the funk!!! I'm REALLY looking forward to the next get-together! The picture Kathy posted expressed how much you all enjoyed being with each other, and I can't wait to be a part of it! I still have so much to do around the house before my surgery ... my husband told me the other day that we are not going out of town this weekend for the graduation party. What a relief!
