Hi All, I'm sorry it's taken so long. My recovery has been a little rough. I developed a fever on Fri morning so Dr Bryne wanted me to stay in an extra day. I got home on Sat afternoon...but come Sat night I was HOT!!!! 102.5' temp, so I called the docs who asked me to come to the ER.....anyway I got a CT scan to make sure there weren't any leaks and everything looked good...my blood work didn't look like I could have an infection..but I was dehydrated. They gave me 2 liters of fluid and then I went home...so far no more fever. I'm siping but not having too much luck with protein ...don't like Carnation Instant Breakfast althugh I've only tried vanilla..Any suggestions on how to increase my intake? Thanks for all your kind words Lesley

Lesley: Glad to hear you are home and doing better.....welcome to the losing side! As for protein, have someone go to GNC or The Vitamin Shoppe and pick up some "Whey" protein. They have vanilla and chocolate and are quite good. I mix mine with some milk and ice and have a little smoothie in the a.m. It will be easier as you go along to get things in. We all have different likes and dislikes and it is definitely a trial and error thing....but I can tell you the things you "loved" before surgery don't taste quite the same and some you actually dislike. Good luck and keep us posted! Susann

Lesley, I'm glad that nasty ole fever is gone As far as protein is concerned, it's sort of trial and error. After surgery my taste buds were on a planet all thier own. Things I liked before surgery, I disliked after surgery. It took trying a few things before I found something that I could get down and liked. I could tolerate the Isopure Protein Drinks...40gr protein a bottle. So Sweetie, keep searching, cause you need to get that protein in. Tonya
