My day at the E.R. yesterday
Chastity,
I am so glad so hear from someone who also had strictures, so I have an idea what it's all about. I would much rather this be stricture(s) than angina, that's for sure!
The funny thing is, there are some foods (solids) that I can chew and swallow with no pain, but then there are liquids or purees that just hurt. I can't figure it out, but I see Dr. Morgan tomorrow and we'll take it from there.
Thanks for the encouragement! It's very much appreciated!
Hugs, Christine
I AM SOOOOO SORRY
I wish there is something I can do except keep you in my prayers of course. I hope it is stricture. I met Dr Morgan once and she seems nice, it was a short visit, she saw me the day I got my drain out. I wish you luck and here's hoping it is nothing to worry about
Keep us posted and let us know how it goes
Hugs
Julie

Tonya darlin, I am in COMPLETE agreement. As I sit here waiting for the pain in my chest to go away again, I am completely telling myself it is stricture, NOT cardiac.
And Miss Julie, I appreciate all of the support y'all are showing to me. Only time will tell.
Now does anyone know how they test for a stricture? PLEASE tell me it is not the barium swallow test! That is the most offesnsive tasting thing on the planet.
Can they check it without drinking that nasty stuff? I feel sick to my stomach just thinking about it!
Hugs!
Christine

Hello Christine... I hope you feel better soon.. I had the same type spells in my first few months.. I was in the hospital 3 different times with the same problems.. They always did the swallow test... but it never showed anything wrong.. but evertime I would go to regular food I would end up in the hospital in the worst pain i ever had in my life.... They decided to do the endoscope and found i had a very narrow opening.. They stretched me 3 times and I have never had that problem since... The procedure is not bad at all... I wish you the best of luck... Just take it easy and eat soft things for a few days... It always help me..Brenda...
