I came home and was doing great. I was packing my incision with no problems. then I woke up on a Saturday morning and could not breath.....pain in lower back, etc. Well, stupid me waits until Tuesday to see the dr. I am dehydrated as well as I have blood clots in BOTH legs. The right was 100 %...left 50%. The clots had left my legs, groins and were headed to the heart but thank the gool Lord the Filter stopped them. I stayed in the hospital for 9 days and home now. tomorrow I am going to see my hematologists. The weight loss is abt 30.....but I will take it..... I am real down. What foods can I eat? How do I get those 64 oz of water in a day? Just needing a shoulder to cry on.......... Wyn

Hi Wyn!!! Thank the Lord ! So glad to know that things are beginning to straighten out for you. Some folks do seem to have a few set-backs but catch up quickly. You sound like you're on the road to complete recovery. Smart Girl, having the greenfield filter placed! I've thought about it. How do they put it in and exactly where do they put it? My surgery is scheduled for June 13th so I'm sorry I don't have any answers for you regarding foods to eat and suggestions about getting down the 64 oz. of water in a day. As far as needing a shoulder to cry on...we've got lots of folks here that will be glad to lend you an ear, a hand, or a shoulder. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers, Suuz

WOW!!! Who needs that kind of excitement? THANK THE GOOD LORD IS RIGHT!!! 30 lbs is an AWESOME achievement!!! YOU GO GIRL!!! Don't feel down Sweetie, it's gonna get better...I'm happy YOU'RE STILL HERE!!! The 64 oz doesn't have to be jus****er...you can have crystal lite, sugarfree koolaide, protein shakes, etc...this all counts towards your fluid intake. Have you tried the flavored waters? I really luv em. As far as what you can eat, depends on what you can handle at this stage. Are you still in the puree stage? If so, you can have cream soups, sugar-free yogurts, cottage cheese, sugar-free puddings, applesauce, pureed chili, tuna, chicken, pork, or beef. I added the pureed meats to my soups. YUMMY! Tonya

Gosh, Wyn, you have been through quite an ordeal. Be kind to yourself and get plenty of rest and let others pamper you until you are on your feet again. Blessings, Christine

Sorry to hear about your ordeal, but glad things turned out well. The good Lord looks out for us WLS patients! As for food, I'm not sure what stage you are in at this point. Early on I did lots of eggs, oatmeal, sugar-free jello and sugar-free popsicles - and oh yeah, don't forget the yogurt.....and the protien - that is tops! Hope you continue to do great. 30 lbs. is great! Susann

Gosh, Honey, the Lord was looking out for you. Take things a day at a time. At first, the doctor told me to sip, sip, sip. Sugar-free popsicles are terrific, especially since it's been hot. They go down easy and they're a yummy treat! Don't push yourself. You need rest and fluids. And when you need a shoulder, you've come to the right place. You're going to be fine. You've been through a really rough experience and you've got to be still shaking from that. Give yourself time to recover. Be gentle with yourself and pamper yourself a little or maybe alot. You deserve it! And you need it. It will help you heal. Snuggle up and watch some really good tv or really bad tv, anything in between is a total waste of time. Or read a good book. Take a nap when your body tells you to. ( I am really bad about that.) Just be good to Wyn - and only you know what that takes. You'll be back on your feet soon and ready to take on the world! Welcome to the losing side! Love, B
