The liquid restriction makes no sense to me. Are you sure that is what you were told? 24 ounces of water a day would leave the rest of us severely dehydrated.

Hello all, I had surgery 05 and began gaining weight in 2016 after having chronic anemia along other health that came with surgery.
On July 1, had a revision done Miami Florida by Eddie Gomez in Jackson Memorial Hospital South. He is great I have no complaints. So far it's been 4 post opt and it's a little challenging psychologically you can only consume 2oz of liquid every other hour. I feel my new stomach could hold more and I've drank more, I quickly stop myself.
I was just wondering has anyone else done the sleeve recently and how has their journey going so far. How are you guys eating and how is the weight loss and psychologically thinking just some insight from others.
I appreciate each and everyone's feedback can't wait to hear stories???????
Its been 11 years actually since my procedure which saw me drop from 180 to 80kg. A huge loss, and something i maintained +/- 10 kg for 8 years.
Unfortunately it then changed and ive had a bad gain, im currently up to 110kg ( not horrible for a male, ) but an increase, my reflux is very bad and im on lansoprazole daily ( without it the day isnt great ).
Im trying to find others who are a decent way out of their surgery date, and wanting to know if you may have undergone an RNY revision to address these concerns. My dr is saying that the only way to fix the heartburn is with an RNY ( given we have no stomach to use normally ) and that RNY is now not that big of a deal given the improvements in surgery techniques ( larger pouch, smaller stoma, and other techniques ).. also that laproscopic surgery has come a long way and stapling is much improved and less concerns.
So can you share your experiences?
Need some decide what i do next to help with teh weight and the reflux..
Thanks

I dont recall but it was within normal range which is why I had VSG and not RNY
Best of luck on your upcoming surgery! It's so frustrating that even today insurance companies deny revision on a regular basis. Even with proven complications.

There is a forum for people who have had surgery in Mexico, I would suggest checking it out to read others' experiences and recommendations!

Hello Everyone,
So I was banded in 2007. I had my band removed June 6, 2019. My band had erosion in my liver not my stomach. I had an over night stay in the hospital. Now my insurance will not Pay I repeat for my sleeve but due to my acid reflex it did pay for the removal and things that revolve around that surgery including the hospital stay. My sleeve date is July 25, 2019. Some doctors would do both surgeries the same day. However since I've had mind done in 2007 and she had no idea what it will look like inside we both decided to wait 6 weeks for the next which is 7 weeks. I'm excited to get the sleeve. I started at 303lbs banded date got down to 186 size 12 and wanted to lose 20 more. I fell like a idiot now. I'm back at 270 and paying for the sleeve. $15000. Taking a huge hit out of saving and a credit card. However I need this to get back in control. So i had to have a small piece of my liver removed because of the erosion. My doctor I'm sure has removed all scar tissue and when she's in their this time hopefully it's like a nice newly made canvas. They are removing 80% of your stomach so the healing for that long is puzzling considering they are removing most of that anyway. My doctor has done a lot or revisions and she's amazing caring, fun but firm. I hope this help.
