Topic: RE: Had my Apollo Overstitch revision.....

Hello, I see you are in Katy, how is it going.

I'm going to Sugar land to consult with a UT doctor about the overstich procedure. First time I heard of this procedure was about 2 weeks ago. Did you have to wait or do a long program with the doctor you went too?

Did you do a long liquid diet before and after? I had my gastric bypass 11 years ago but never got to goal, gain about 50 so trying to see if this is something I want to do.

Thanks.

I can understand being leery of this provider based on her behavior, but evaluating her on her personal body weight/shape is not cool.

Definitely get a second opinion. I have watched shows where folks who lost a good amount of weight, but still have more to go had their belly apron removed. Best of luck to you.

That is exactly what I have going on. I HATE IT! I think in the weight that I lost I have maybe lost 3 pant sizes but my shirts are so much smaller and they all have to be bigger than I need to cover the belly/apron thing I have going on.

and I did check into skin removal. Plastic surgeon said NO WAY! I am still too big and have too much more weight to lose before she will even begin to TRY to get it covered through my insurance. I have about 70 more pounds before she will even attempt to try to work with me. needless to say I am thinking of a 2nd opinion at this point.

so not sure where else to go at this point and it is suuuuper frustrating especially since my sis lost 70 pounds on her own and shes down from a 26 to a 16 and im still the same size even when losing the same amount weight... but I just gotta keep truckin'

Topic: Bowel movement after RNY

Starting to panic & will call Dr. tomorrow. Had surgery Wednesday afternoon, & haven't had a bowel movement, nor passed gas-don't know if it's psychological, scared to pu****ook MOM, & have been getting lots of fluids. Also walking lots. Anyone else have this trouble in the beginning? I don't recall if I had this bad constipation after sleeve. I know the codeine affects this, but definitely still need it for the pain a couple of times a day.

All good ones, and I will ask them.

My quest for stories and feedback from OH members to to get the "actual" to compare with what they say at the Rx office...

Ask lots of questions.

What will your bathroom routine be like after surgery?

What vitamins will you need?

What is his definition of long limb or distal?

How much have his patients lost with his revision?

I'm going to be speaking with my surgeon in two weeks. I want to know if that's what it, as I've read those things before. Oddly I've also seen some posts suggesting that the Long Limb bypass and the Distal are two different things. I do want clarity on that. I'll say this, I've always been very good about the vitamin regimen and I've always been lucky to have had perfect or near perfect labs every time. Of course, all that could change if the plumbing is heavily modified.
