I had revision for the same thing on 7/22/19. I lost like 20 lbs and that's about it. They said that you don't have the same metabolic change after a revision so large amounts of weight lost is unlikely (I also wasn't at a super high weight when I had it). Let me know if you have specific questions!

My doctor ran labs and my glucose is low. I'm not taking in enough calories. I was at normal BMI when I had the revision. I'm below now. She is referring me to a dietician and hopefully, that will get me on track.

I had so many problems throwing up prior to the revision that I'm terrified of eating and messing things up. Thus, the reason for the weight loss, low glucose and dizziness.

Thanks for all the tips. I certainly need all the help I can get!

Wow, this is basically my SAME story! I got approved for revision today for the same issues with GERD. I started over 525lbs, had sleeve on 7/6/15. Got down to 275 in 2018. Since then diagnosed with heart disease, was placed on meds whi*****reased me to 316lbs as of today. I'm awaiting my surgery date but have mixed emotions.

This thread saddens me as well as making me scared to confess that I am almost back to my pre-surgery weight. I moved out of the state I had my r-ny in and feel I am grasping at straws. I went through so much and never did make it to goal weight.

Some of us who had normal BP before WLS, may end up with lower BP post op. I know I do. When I follow proper for an RNY person diet, of dense proteins, some fat and some non starchy carbs - not only I find I can't eat a lot, but because of the portion sizes, and regular food, I don't get any where near 2500 mg of sodium daily. I get much less. And other minerals, electrolytes.

In summer, when it gets really hot, and I perspire a lot, I often have to supplement my sodium by taking sodium tablets, or capsules. In addition, because I follow rather low carb diet, my glycogen stores in my system is also limited.

I found out that are body can store "liquids" in our system by binding with glycogen, or electrolytes. Since my real die is low on both, I may get really low BP, and may initially manifest itself as Orthostatic Hypo-tension. ( getting dizzy when rapidly getting up from sitting or laying down position.

When i started having symptoms like that, I know i need to add, increase my electrolytes.

Some people advise others to limit salt, and drinking plain water, a lot of plain water. Unfortunately, IMO - the "weight" some of them are going to lose is water weight, teh same water that our body desperately need to work properly.

Topic: RE: Band to RNY after 12 years banded. Lots of questions

Thanks! The doc I'm with said he can do both at the same time in about 50 percent of his cases, dependent on the scarring and whether the stomach's shape with 4 weeks' recovery time - wow! So, I guess we'll hope for the best!

Surgery, 8/22/07.  In it for the long haul!

I've not been banded, but I've seen posts from lots of people who have.

Some doctors can do both procedures at once, others prefer to do it in two surgeries. I believe it can also depend on the amount of scarring around the lap band. So you should definitely ask your doctor about it.

For revisions, I think the average amount of time away from work is about 2 weeks.
