I am having a revision from my sleeve to bypass and I am so afraid this time around. And this 2 week liquid diet is killing me, I just wanted to talk to others who have done this and are enjoying their results. I have had nothing but issues since my sleeve surgery and the revision is because of severe reflux issues. Just scared and hungry.

Congrats on your exercise progress post-op! Has your surgeon cleared you for resistance training yet? My doc had me wait 6 weeks, but your instructions may be different.
I have graduated to a gym membership!!! I am able to walk my subdivision without issues, time to implement a lil resistance... This time will be better than the first... I have a better understanding and most importantly I CHOSE LIFE!!! I have another opportunity to take control of myself.... mind, body and SOUL

Search here on OH for "distal RNY".
Hopefully you are working with a therapist to work though all the issues you have been through. The mental part is definitely the toughest. You need to remember that no surgery is "magic". If you eat too much even with the distal RNY, you will gain weight.

I understand having time to heal.
I too have reflux and can't take it any longer.
Gateway told me to do whatever time I'm told. The person. Did say due to having the band I would probably only wait three months.
I will be 6 years post op VSG in June. The severe GERD started about 4 months ago. Before that I took 1 PPI in the morning and all was well. I don't know what changed. I had an endoscopy and my gastro told me to go see my surgeon. Right now I am taking 80 mg on Protonix in the morning. I then have to take Pepcid in the afternoon and before bed. I awoke at 4 am with a belly full of acid and burning and coughing. I am scheduled to see my surgeon on Thursday.
I am don't know what he will do, but I am thinking he will do a revision. Probably a minor one with 150 channel. Not sure what I am talking about, but a friend has the same surgeon and this is what happened to her. She is also 6 years post op.
My surgeon stopped doing bypass a few years ago, but will do it for this reason.
I am not sure what to expect. When I know more I will post.
Hello
I had my EGD last thursday. I get my results April 12.so we shall see. I will keep you posted..Good Luck
I had the band and revised to bypass this past December. I developed severe acid reflux/GERD and it had to go. The band was taken out in August and the bypass was done 4 months after. I did not have to wait 6 months but my insurance had me take all of the steps of the process again. My doctor also wanted to give my insides time to heal. Good luck in your journey.

I am not really new to oh. I just deleted my account a long time ago. This actually my 15 year anniversary of my original surgery and 8 year anniversary of my revision. I lost down to 195 from 385 after losing 115 pounds on my own. Then due to many trials that I won't burden you with I regained to 285. I went to Cleveland clinic where after much testing I was told my metabolism was a mess and always had been. The clinic did the exact procedure you're describing to me. Long story short I am 5'10" and weigh 135. If I don't eat constantly I drop 2-3 pounds a week
