I have a hiatal hernia and bad GERD. That's about it.
I still haven't submitted the appeal. I have been having health issues... and I think I have esophogitis. I go to the doctor soon. I can't swallow food and I have bad chest pains. May be esophagus episodes. I will keep you updated.
Denials get overturned all the time. But an exclusion means there is no coverage at all, and I've never seen that overturned.
It's like filing a car insurance claim for something that isn't covered. If someone didn't pay for coverage, the insurance company can't be made to pay.

Self pay sucks, but maybe if you itemize all you medical expenses for the year you can deduct it from your taxes next year....
I got a phonecall from my insurance company and they told me that my doctor submitted everything correctly for my revision, but he is out of network (I didn't know that) and they would never approve that surgery with an out of network doctor. I have been banging my head trying to figure out why I was getting denied when my doctor told me it was a home-run for approval. Couldn't they have told me this 2 months ago?
Now I am searching for a new surgeon which I hate doing but oh well. I called the helath advocate for my husband's company and they are helping me with the search.
