Good luck Kimiam. Let's stay in touch since we may have surgery around the same time.

I am in the same boat except my surgeon is advising to go the sleeve route and I'm seriously wondering if it is the right idea. So stressful!

I had the sleeve in 2011 and now have severe gerd and reflux. I too have the feeling of food and water sitting in my chest. After a swallow test and ph manometry, ultrasound endoscopy..it was determined that my esophagus doesn't open normally.. never has any issues before.. insurance just approved me for bypass

If you didn't get a band, I promise you dodged a bullet.

I love my bypass! No complications. within a week or two felt normal for the first time in 11 years. Amazing feeling. I had it in one procedure. Sleeve was absolutely off the table for me because of GERD. doc said odds were high I'd end up revising to RNY anyway...so that was a no brainer.

Deficiencies are not a concern for me I get regular blood tests, am religious with my vitamins and actually had to cut back on some because i was too high.

Could not recommend it more.

even at that BMI, the band has failed you, it has caused possibly permanent damage to you and it IS meant to be temporary.

I, personally, would never get another one, if I was you.

Mad far as non invasive, what is non invasive about a plastic device burrowing into a part of your body , unlike what it is supposed to do and causing damage?

all major abdominal surgery, which all the WLS 's are are invasive.
