So my paper work was mailed on June 5 , I called to check on the status and was told that because it is an apppeal the insurance company has 90 days to review my case . They did say it prob won't take that long as it is being processed at this time . Has anyone else had this long of a waiting game ? Or has anyone dealt with bcbs of Ala ? I feel like my life is on hold , I am so anxious I can't help but to worry / think about it all day !
If you're considering self-pay revision surgery, I recommend you contact Mexicali Bariatric Center as they're one of the best WLS centers in Mexico.
I'm so glad that I saw this post. I feel like a failure. I literally have no restriction with my sleeve. It's so depressing.
I am planning a revision, I need to know if any one has done this revision and what the outcome was? How much weight has been lost and what was the time frame and experience.
Hello Everyone,
I had Gastic Sleeve 6 Year's ago. I suffered an on the job injury and was bed ridden for about 1 year and I was placed on depression medication which also majorly increase my appetite and weight.
I've tried everything that I know to try to turn this around, which has little results.
I would like to be resleeved or have the Gastric Bypass surgery. I have gotten pricing information for the procedure to be done in Mexico. I would like opinions/inputs on both procedures. If there is any other members who have faced this problem I would like to hear me you.
I'm really desperate for a second chances.
Congrats! Bypass is infinitely better!

agree with lady godiva, particulary if you already have any reflux. a study has come out recently that confirms that 30% odds of worseing reflux with the sleeve. 60% odds of improving with bypass.

you dodged a bullet not getting a band, mine permanently damaged my esophagus.
Adhesions are a major complication with lap bands...if you already have them with RNY it would be worse. i know someone who's band caused adhesions between his liver and other organs. there are other revision options for RNY.
more than 50% revision and complications rates with bands on this study.

Hi Steph,
That sounds great!! I'm not sure what date I'm going to go with yet. I have a family vacation coming up and then childcare issues in August. I'm sure I can make something work in August though so hopefully there is a date available.
I see that you're in MN. I am also getting my revision done in MN. Do you mind telling me what clinic/surgeon you're using?
