Sorry to read you are in pain. I was in more pain when I had the lapband in and then out! My revision was a cake walk compared to the band. Hope you are feeling better every day!

You can't measure your achievements with someone else's yardstick!

Just had my revision from band to gastric bypass. The pain is unreal. Especially when I cough or stand up. Anyone else have this issue?

I am having my band removed and rny on the 30. My surgeon really recommends the rny due to my history of GERD , and mine was never that bad . I refuse to go through a third surgery! And my luck there would be issues with the sleeve , also my current insurance only pays for 1 WLS per lifetime .

it is scar tissue build up on the INSIDE of your body tissue that is the problem, not the scars from the skin incisions on the outside skin.

Internal scar tissue is called adhesions and they form like a huge spider web on the inside making surgery often more difficult. They can be surgically removed but often reform.

it is a very common thing for some ppl after any surgery, not just wright loss surgery.

I have had a very similar experience. I am inquiring about who the doctor was in Arizona who was able to fix you. I am in Yuma and we do not have anyone that specializes in bariatric, so I will need to go to Phoenix from what I have been told. Any info would be awesome!

Did your doctor do tests to decide this or is it just the standard procedure? I ask because my band slipped and eroded and I concerned about if my anatomy was changed by all the surgeries.

i second this. if you end up with reflux and need a revision after the sleeve to rny, can you afford it?

I would be really cautious about getting the sleeve after the band especially if you had stomach damage. There are many folks who end up having to revise to the bypass because the sleeve caused GERD/heartburn/reflux.

I also wanted the sleeve, but due to the excessive GERD/heartburn from the band I was not a candidate. So instead I had the bypass done. Which I found out after the surgery was a good choice because there was damage done to my stomach that also would have prevented me from having the sleeve.

Just something to think about.

Good luck with your revision.
