I would think your new insurance would cover fixing the hiatial hernia even if it does not cover a revision to your revision. That may help your acid reflux. Does your surgeon want to revise you to RNY?

I think it depends on which policy your employer has chosen for you , some employers exclude wls.

Well I had my gastric bypass rny from sleeve/hernia repair repair July 3rd. I still have the PICC line in. I'm not sure how to recover from 19 weeks of this. I feel sick eating or drinking anything. my current weight is 189lbs down from 253lbs 3/19/18. Im still trying to recover. How are you doing? ??

i had a VBG as well in Lubbock by Dr. Hall.
I am having problems with H Pylori. It is know amongst several people who have had this procedure. I am in the process of having it revised. My doctor is doing the Gastic By Pass. The acid reflex may also be a sign of H Pylori as well. It is believed due to food getting stuck. When it rotten it turns to a bacteria . I had my apron removed from my stomach and they found a hernia . So another thing to worry about . Anyway hope this helps. EHAYWOOD
Great! I hope you are doing well and that it will be successful. Your stoma was very dilated per the numbers you provide so maybe this will be the ticket for you.
I have no idea what normal stomas measure. They stretch much less often than people think. I guess I'd check in with Dr. Google for a range of estimated stoma sizes in virgin RnY surgeries.
It would really be interesting for a lot of us to know how this works for you. Typically it sounds as though folks lose a maximum of about 30 pounds after the Rose/Stomaphyx procedures, but your stoma was so stretched that you may be able to go much further than that. And, you also had a new procedure which sounds like it might improve upon those other two options. Take care, and keep us updated if you'd like to.

I am almost 6 years post VSG. CW 256, After my sleeve I immediately started having acid reflux. Recently found out I have a hiatial hernia and found out after being weighed, I had gained almost all my weight back
FINALLY got my Aetna HMO insurance to approve me to see a bariatric dr. Things are moving along. My doc ordered the Bravo test, EGD, barium test and a esophageal biopsy. I am just trying to patiently wait for my insurance to approve these tests and schedule me. Then, I find out today that my husbands insurance is changing.
The new insurance is through United Healthcare. I think it may be a PPO. Which may be an advantage. But I have heard UH doesn't cover bariatrics. I am just looking for anyone with experience dealing with UH. What can you tell me about getting a revision with them?
Trying to stay hopeful. But there is no way I could have all my tests done, submit to Aetna HMO and be approved and have my surgery before Aug. 1!!

- I had the procedure 2 weeks ago, my Stoma was dilated to 30mm pouch 5cm long. I guess my next question would be what is a normal stomas measure? He reduced it to 8cm. I did get pictures.
