Topic: RE: mid back pain when eating, 6 wks out GS rev from RNY

You went from the bypass to the sleeve am I understanding the correctly? What type of treatment do you need for arthritis that would warrant that type of revision? If it was to be able to take NSAIDS you may be in for bad news as NSAIDS are not good for any type of WLS.

It could be acid causing the pain. Especially if is just recently started.

Topic: mid back pain when eating, 6 wks out GS rev from RNY

had revision from RNY to GS, due to needing treatment for arthritis.

I am about 6 wks out, and starting phase 3 of foods, adding a few more semi-solids... each time I eat, whether its one bite or my full 2 oz, I have started get mid-back pain. I have taken gas-x which to some degree helps - but does not make alleviate the pain. I eat slowly and chew chew chew.

Anyone else have this issue?

I have called my surgeons office who is scheduling a "precautionary" endoscopy, but am still nervous. My hope is that is just gas and nothing more.

This is all new to me, as when i had the RNY 6 years ago... I had no issues whatsoever.

(Note... RNY 4/30/12, revision to GS 6/5/18)

I had my procedure done on July 6, lost 30 pounds probably due to water weight but you're right I don't feel the restriction. I can eat up to 4 oz my pouch is 4mm in size so hopefully this work for me

I have United Healthcare and am tentatively scheduled for surgery on 7/30. Bariatric coverage is dependent on the particular policy.

Topic: band to sleeve

I had to have a band removed 2 years ago due to complications. I have gained 50 pounds and just cant get it down. I am investigating the sleeve.. My surgeon offered this option when my band was removed buy I declined at the time. Looking back I wish I had done it. Now I have initial consultation with the surgeon on Aug 6. My surgeon has moved and I will see a new doctor.

Has anyone else have the same issue? Any advise for my consultation? and this process... any advise, support appreciated.

Topic: RE: So depressed

I had my original lapband in Mexico. I did ok. Only thing is that doing surgery down there you don't really have the support in place. I returned for a couple of visits for fills etc. I am scheduled for bypass Aug 1st. I think my insurance will not cover part of it but will see. They will also fix my hernia.

If self pay is the only way to then so be it if you can gather the $.

Hi there, it's been almost two weeks since my revision and I'm still getting my nutrition and hydration from my PICC line. I wake up crying and in pain and I go to sleep the same way. I know I can't turn back time but this is way too much to handle. Everything that can happen that's not good is happening. Any advice I'm exhausted, 19 weeks out tomorrow. ???

What complications led to the revision and what is continuing to cause problems after the revision that you are still on the PICC line? I am so so sorry for everything that you have gone through and are going through. I hope that things improve for you soon. Do you have emotional support in your immediate circle at home, etc?
