I have United Healthcare and am tentatively scheduled for surgery on 7/30. Bariatric coverage is dependent on the particular policy.

Topic: band to sleeve

I had to have a band removed 2 years ago due to complications. I have gained 50 pounds and just cant get it down. I am investigating the sleeve.. My surgeon offered this option when my band was removed buy I declined at the time. Looking back I wish I had done it. Now I have initial consultation with the surgeon on Aug 6. My surgeon has moved and I will see a new doctor.

Has anyone else have the same issue? Any advise for my consultation? and this process... any advise, support appreciated.

I had my original lapband in Mexico. I did ok. Only thing is that doing surgery down there you don't really have the support in place. I returned for a couple of visits for fills etc. I am scheduled for bypass Aug 1st. I think my insurance will not cover part of it but will see. They will also fix my hernia.

If self pay is the only way to then so be it if you can gather the $.

Hi there, it's been almost two weeks since my revision and I'm still getting my nutrition and hydration from my PICC line. I wake up crying and in pain and I go to sleep the same way. I know I can't turn back time but this is way too much to handle. Everything that can happen that's not good is happening. Any advice I'm exhausted, 19 weeks out tomorrow. ???

What complications led to the revision and what is continuing to cause problems after the revision that you are still on the PICC line? I am so so sorry for everything that you have gone through and are going through. I hope that things improve for you soon. Do you have emotional support in your immediate circle at home, etc?

Hi, I've had PICC Line in for 12 weeks to feed and hydrate me. Idk when it will be be removed. I am at the end of my patience. This is too hard for me to deal with anymore! I wake up crying and in pain and discomfort and go to bed the same way since 3/19/18. Everything I put in my mouth hurts me or makes me sick.

After doing a bit of research (called googling) I also think you may have a typo. Because standard pouch and stoma sizes seem to be very different than what you are reporting. You might want to double check those numbers.
