Topic: Revision tomorrow- want buddies and stories

I'm having my revision tomorrow. I had a full RNY in 1999, gained the weight back, have two hernias. Basically, the Dr said they do it differently now. My stomach is three times it's size and the stoma is three times the size as well. He said it didn't stretch, it was just the way it was made then.

Can anyone tell me if they are having a revision soon? Also, stories of their revision, was it harder recovery (which is what I'm hearing), etc.?

Thank you!

Kimberly

Hi, how are you doing since your revision? I'm POD 7 revision and unsuspected hernia repair. Still having alot of pain but overall doing good.

I'm in my room resting now. Very tired. They will get me up to walk in a couple hours. Surgery had no complications. I've finally got my pain under control. I'm hooked up to an iv for pain meds which is extremely convenient. Love all my nurses!

Good luck Kelly! You will do well and may not have extreme pain. If you do have pain or nausea, let your nurses know then stay on top of it by taking the pills on schedule. No need to suffer as it could slow recovery. And remember, sip, walk, repeat. :)

Good morning all!!

It's an early one for sure. I'm headed out shortly for surgery. Should be out of surgery around 11am today so keep me in your thoughts and prayers if you think of it.

I'm extremely anxious and nervous this morning but trying really hard not to get into my own head and make myself crazy. I've been working towards this day for a very long time. Looking forward to getting through the next few days of extreme pain and on my way to recovery and meeting goals.

Have a great day.

I totally understand your fear. I am too! I am waiting for my surgical date. I just as soon get it over with it.

I'm so sick to my stomach, I have the GERD and I should've already had the RNY done but I was too scared to have it done, so here I am with it getting worse and I know I need to call the surgeon and schedule the surgery I have to take 1 rintandine 300mg pills 2x a day and the acid reflux just feels ugh. So sick of this I also am scared to have the rny done I know I'm headed that way. It's not about the weight it's getting rid of the acid reflux.

Oh thank you! I'm full of anxiety and worry right now. I'm due at the hospital at 515am tomorrow so that means I need to be on the road by 345am. Surgery is scheduled for 730am. Should be out of the OR by 11 or so. Praying for smooth sailing throughout the day.

I'll check in at some point.

Thanks again!
