How did it go? How long did they keep you before letting you go the same day?

I had lap band revised to RNY Dec 20, 2018 My tastebuds are off. My coffee taste like warm water. Has this happened to anyone else?
yes, It happened to me and 8 years later it is still that way. It has to be very high quality and very well made coffee for it to taste good to me.

Hello,
I had RNY 7/2010 original weight 250, lost 80 pounds after RNY had of about 30 pounds also was having dumping, hypoglycemic episodes and was on monthly iron infusions. 7/16 had overstitch to reduce stoma size and keep food in pouch longer- dumping, hypoglycemia ended and did not need an iron infusion anymore also lost the 30 pounds I had regained and things were good...until the past 6 months when all these symptoms began to return. Dumping, dropping blood sugars and had to have an iron infusion also regained nearly 10 pounds. Went on December for an EGD and my stoma is enlarged again (not as much as prior to overstitch but too big) I am scheduled for overstitch again on 1/24/19. Not looking forward to the liquid diet but otherwise hopeful it worked great for me for 2 years and hopeful this time it will last longer this time - "Third time charm?!"
Hey girl. I am ok. The first three days was hell. I wanted to doe with the pain. Today is my birthday and I am depress. I really forgot how food and alcohol had became a major part of my life again. I don't know what to do. But I want to lose my weight and continue to be healthy. So I have to make these scarfices. I see how I gain weight back. I had the wrong prorties. But the is trully a reality check. And I am ready for it.
Checking in on you...are you okay? How are you feeling? Tried to wait a few days before checking in on you. I have been praying for you.
Veronica
Sorry I forgot to answer the one question-
I didn't need the 6 month program because I'd been thru the first surgery. My dr did however make me stop vaping nicotine for 6 months before he would touch me. He also made me take 1 pre surgery class, but just 1 individual class that's it, I went to it a week before surgery.
I wish they had taught me something that would of been useful, like how different this surgery is to VGB! I also wish I could of just had another VGB put in, I'm not enjoying all the side effects of gastric bypass.
ð?'? hi,
I have. In 1997 I had a VBG and did wonderful, I started at 407lbs and lost 200 lbs and kept it off till 2007 when I had skin removal surgery (that's a WHOLE other story)and went down to 180lbs.
But by 2010 I started not being able to keep food down and eventually I was down to 129lbs (I was 5'10" and looked sick) I knew my Gastric ring must be eroding but refused to have it checked because I didn't want to have it removed and gain weight.
by 2014 it had eroded thru enough I could eat again and I needed the food so I ate, A lot! By 2017 I weighed over 220 pounds and finally went looking to have it removed. It was just hanging out in my throat and it was horrible because I couldn't find a dr to touch me because my ring was a Silastic ring and they have a horrible complication rate for revisions.
Medicaid never gave me an issue, I HAD TO HAVE IT REMOVED, it was a foreign body and making me sick. In 2018 I found a dr who knew the material and agreed to do the surgery (removal and full revision to gastric bypass)
So November 27th I had the surgery and I've been sick ever since (bronchiole infection, just another complication, ugh!)
Two weeks before surgery on November 13th I started my liquid diet and weighed 267lbs. Today I weigh 206lbs, only because I can't eat because I'm still so sick and nauseous all the time, it's not good I lost all this weight so damn fast and my ammune system is just depleted.
I wish you luck, it can be a very hard road after removals and revisions. Make sure your ready for all the complications that can happen.
I wish I had some special formula or technique or plan! The bottom line for me though is the same as it is for anybody else: I ate less calories than I burned. Last year when I lost re-gain #3, hubby went keto at right about the same time. It's not for me (full/true keto) but apparently I was eating way more than I realized of the goodies we kept around here for him. So my goal was 177, but when the snacks and extra bites and such were eliminated the weight kept coming off.
Somewhere around here is a post I wrote about losing my regains. It's long and unwieldy (sp?) but it's still my best answer to the regain question. You've been around awhile so you've likely seen it. If you haven't, let me know and I can repost or PM you.
Why do you think a re-sleeve will resolve/improve your GERD? Do you have evidence to backup your assessment or is it because you're scared of RNY and need to do more research? To me it sounds like your surgeon is making the correct recommendation.
Not sure if you're aware but development of GERD is a risk of VSG. To resolve (or minimize) it, many surgeons recommend revision to RNY as the best long term treatment. If you don't trust your surgeon then I suggest meeting with 1-2 other bariatric surgeons for their professional opinions.
Good luck.
