a revision is when you have your surgery redone. Some people get a revision for staple line disruption or other feel they have not lost enought weight and some others switch from one type of WLS to another. Tina

I had a VBG done in 1997 and had some problems with not being able to eat foods that I was supposed to. Lots of vomiting. About the only thing I could reliably eat were carb-laden things that were all to well tolerated. My initial weight loss was ~150lbs, of which I managed to only gain ~50lbs (and diabetes, hypertension, and sleep apnea) back over 8 years. 9 weeks ago I had a revision from the VBG to RNY, and have lost 80lbs to date. I'm tolerating the RNY exceptionally well and haven't hurled yet! Just remember that this procedure is a TOOL, not a cure. It all depends on your attitude! Good luck, Bobby
