Hi, I have to get a revision asap because i have a horrible hiatal hernia which is preventing me from eating and the weight is coming back on. I wan to know who are the top RNY to DS surgeons. My doctor does it, but his nurse says he doesn't usually go less than 100 on the cc and i've been told that i should from what i've read on this list. My insurance allows me to go just about anywhere I want so I'm flexible, but I want surgeons that are aware of the complication of revision and have done a bunch. Thanks! ronnie

Both DS surgeons in MN make the common channel less than 100cm and do revisions from RNY to DS. Dr. Buchwald at the U of M and Dr. Schlosser at Abbott Northwestern. Let me know if you'd like more information on either of them. I facillitate our local DS support group and I know both of them very well. Tammy

Hi, Ronnie: I had an RNY in August 2001 and lost approximately 75 pounds (not all I needed to lose). A couple of years later, I began gaining weight. I rsearched having a conversion to DS, and found the name of Dr. Peter Crookes. He's as good as they come for a revision. He's at USC in Los Angeles. I traveled to LA in September 2004 and was revised to DS. I have lost approximately 65 pounds, and am within 15 lbs of my goal weight. Weight loss has slowed down considerably, but I'm still losing a pound or two a month. Dr. Crookes is an angel. Dale
