Well 5/31/18 I went into surgery to get my lapband I had RNY in 2005 I woke up and was told they couldn't put the band in because I had too much scar tissue from my RNY doctor told my husband they removed a lot of scar tissue and also repaired a leak I had, Doctor told my husband there's an alternative they can do where they go down my throat I go back for follow up on 6/6/18 the only procedure I can think of is the Stomaphyx or the Rose procedure I'm on clear fluids until I see the doctor. My discharge papers say Bariatric stage 1 scars, they told my husband that they will take care of me real soon has anyone ever had this happen to them?

you dodged a bullet not getting a band, mine permanently damaged my esophagus.

Adhesions are a major complication with lap bands...if you already have them with RNY it would be worse. i know someone who's band caused adhesions between his liver and other organs. there are other revision options for RNY.

more than 50% revision and complications rates with bands on this study.
