Success rate of revisions??

I'm curious about the success rate of revisions, specifically VSG to RNY.

I see my surgeon tomorrow and will get his specific info, but I've regained 35 lbs from my lowest and have terrible GERD (which was present pre-op and never totally resolved).

I'm wondering if i'm just setting myself up for a let down if I agree to revision, and would like to hear what other's experiences are. I hope I'll find out that yes, loss is still possible and likely.

I think I'm better armed emotionally this time, and since I KNOW what areas I failed in I will focus on doing this specific things correctly- attend a regular support group, do NOT touch pop, exercise daily (already joined the gym), focus my eating on protein FIRST until full, and stay on shakes long term.

These are all things that I 'failed' at the first time around.

I had a re-sleeve in January and it's going great. I've lost the weight that I regained and so far so good. I am being very careful about NOT overeating this time. I slowly find myself able to eat more but not doing it. Sticking to the plan, limiting my portions and stopping eating when I feel close to full. I never had any big issues with gerd though. I am happy that I decided to do the revision surgery.

Well, I wish you all the best with your upcoming surgery. I started with the RNY because I already had uncontrollable reflux and my surgeon had so much experience with the sleeve making that problem worse.

I have not had a single episode of reflux since the first day post op.i can eat pretty much whatever I want and thankfully I do not get dumping syndrome.

Good luck with your upcoming transition. Hopefully you will feel better soon!

I'm a revision from a lap band to RNY. May be different, but you can see from my stats below it has been a success! I had GERD with the band. no PPI's anymore with bypass.

I've been doing lots of walking 10,000 steps a day and I follow a balanced macro eating plan.
