People were shocked at the surgeons office cause I still looked pretty good. Not bragging. But I just got a little thick in the middle. And I sensed a potential problem arising and decided to nip it in bud. Like I said, the "failure" was all on me. I take responsibility. I lost 113 I think and gained like half back.

He did mine all in one. He mention a hiatal hernia, but for some reason didn't seem too concerned. I never have GERD or acid reflux. So he just tightened up the stretched out pouch and Stoma. But the real gift, I hope, was removing the dormant stomach that he said stills secretes the appetite hormone Ghrelin. So we'll see.

P.S. If you have had Gastric Bypass/RNY, u know ur not gonna have a true Sleeve. Cause the Pyloric valve is gone.

As far as the DS, I heard that more for folks that are like 500+ pounds.

And the funny thing was I was a freak back then working out. Yeah, I'm sure that helped with the losing like 70 pounds from the day of my surgery in Jun 2010 to November 2010. I bottomed out at 162 from a high of 285 when I started the journey in Oct. 2009. But my point is diet is 80% of weight loss. Every when I was gaining I was always quoting that "abs begin in the kitchen", "U can't out train a bad diet". That is so true. Cause when my diet started to slide, I was still training like animal, but my diet sucked.

Good Luck to you with your fresh start!

I had Gastric Bypass 9 years ago in May of 2008 and lost 130. Was in complete control for a good 7 years with exercising and clean eating following all the rules. Then some stress with work (GE Capital/laid off this past Dec. 2016) two years coming! Whole place was constant stress. no excuses slacked exercising and then food got sloppy. slowly put on 40 pounds. I now have lost 8 lbs in the past 3 weeks just going back to protein first , Eating mainly whole foods no liquids with food (tough one for me) and exercising. I never had support and joined this group and feel it has helped tremendously logging in daily. I feel reborn coming here and I found another support group near my home. My hospital had a terrible support group more informational meetings then support groups.

This time I feel I will be more aware and careful... also my head is where it needs to be. Feel great with who I am all these years out. Where I found it hard the first couple years and the new me. It is not easy to lose regain but so easy to slack off. The way I see it 32 lbs is easy compared to where I came from... even if it is slow. I am getting there!

your on the road again too... life is good.

I understand what you are saying! I had RNY in 2007 and lost 165 lbs. I was feeling great and then I went back to work. I didn't take the time to prepare my foods like I should and stopped exercising because I told myself I didn't have time. I have gained about 40lbs and I am back up to 320lbs. I am angry at myself for not using my tool to the fullest. I have an appt with OSU Bariatrics to see if I can get back into the program. I want to go back to my original surgeon because he was awesome. I am super nervous but I have to do this! I want to fully get to my goal of 160lbs. Hopefully, I will get approved and we can encourage each other along the way!
