What Is The Fobie ring

Something to stay far away from, it has caused many problems and is rarely used anymore because of that.

It's a ring of flexible material placed around the stoma at the time of surgery. In theory, it's to keep the stoma from stretching, and it seems to do this very well. However, it's been known to cause a whole host of OTHER problems, and over the years I've seen a lot of people have to have a second surgery to remove it. Avoid it like the plague.
