Finally! I feel normal again

For almost a year, I have battled with ulcers after having an RNY. I lost so much weight that I ended up underweight and in constant pain. I was finally approved by my insurance for revision surgery to cut away the ulcerated area and rebuild the pouch. Surgery was performed on Monday 2/9 and I was released from the hospital on Wednesday 2/11. I can honestly say that I feel better right now than I have felt in over a year. The difference is amazing! Yes, the incisions hurt and I do still have the normal pains that accompany the surgery. I hadn't realized though how debilitating the ulcer pain was or the effect its had on my mood and health. I'm hungry for the first time in months, not nauseous when I eat and am sleeping through the night. I'm in the unique position of needing to gain weight for the first time in my life but will go at that cautiously and in a controlled manner. I can honestly say that even though it hasn't been a week since surgery, I feel GREAT!
