Band to Sleeve Revision = Terrified

Actually the sleeve  has been around much longer for ulcers and cancer than the RNY.  It has also been the first part of the DS for almost as long.

BAND REMOVED 9-4-12-fought insurance to get sleeve and won! Sleeved 1/22/13! Five years out and trying to get that last 15 pounds back off.

Does anyone know where I can get the Revision surgery (Lapband to Sleeve) done in one surgery?  I live in the DC/MD/VA area.

Thank you for all the posts.   I ended up flying home to meet with my lapband surgeon and so happy that I did!  I had followed the liquid plan and it worked.   My slip adjusted back into place.   I still want to revise but am feeling less panicked about it. Next step is to get approved for the EDG and attend a nutrition class specifically for the sleeve.   After the EDG results,  I hope to have insurance approve the revision.

I feel better about my decision as I completely trust him and his staff.  I'm lucky to have family in the area so I can recover with them and not by myself.

I'll post again soon.  Thanks again for the support :-)

Don't be afraid to kate the leap... You just might end up in a better place!
