eroded band question ???

Good luck to you!! Hope it worked out.

I am getting excited because I met with my primary doctor and although it is early, he believes I may be a good candidate to remove the band and get the RNY. Although I am not severely overweight, I am borderline with the two co-morbidities, so my doctor is supportive of the switch. Have not had much luck with the band...originally lost 50 lbs, but have slowly gained back all but 10 lbs! Am very disappointed with myself and the band. Really had high hopes 3 years ago.

I am hopeful that I can lose what I need to with the RNY, which would ideally be 80 pounds! Oh that would be a dream come true!

It is very rare that a revision can be done during the same surgery as repairing erosion.  You fix the erosion and 3-6 months later you get your revision.  It is the safer way to go.
