Band Removed 19 months ago, getting RNY on 08/29/11 and a little apprehensive.

Hey all-I had several problems with my band, and never really lost as much weight as I had anticipated.   Had to have emergency surgery in December 2009 because it has slipped and I felt deathly ill before it was removed.

I, of course, gained most of my weight back and am now having the RNY done (it has been approved and surgery date is 08/29/11).  Needless to say I am apprehensive about the things that can go wrong again....any advice would be welcomed! 

My opinion is nothing could be worse than the band! There are lots of successful folks with the RNY so I'm sure you will do well, maybe a bit slower than a "virgin" RNY but still better than the band. Best of wishes to you!

HI HISLADY QUESTION: WHY DID YOU SAY SHE MIGHT LOSE A LITTLE SLOWER THAN A VIRGIN RNY? JUST ASKING IT MAY APPLY TO ME ALSO.
