My doctor told me it would need to be done in two surgeries, three months apart. One to remove the band and one to do the DS. Anyone else have experience with this?

If you have a slip or erosion that makes sense. If you don't I don't quite know why they would put you through two surgeries. I had my band to sleeve done in the same surgery.

The band got me to goal, the sleeve will keep me there.

My doc does 2 surgeries also -- best way to ensure the stomach tissue is healled and can hold the staples becasue the area for leaks is greatest at the top which is the location where the band is/was
I didn't like having to wait 3 months - but the band removal recovery was easy and now I am 1 week away from my sleeve
