Need a revsion from VBG to ?

I have read about mesh somewhere too... but don't know of anyone who has ever had it.  I think it was an older surgery perhaps.. just not really sure. 

 
I emailed my surgeon and asked, here is what he wrote:

~~Some use silastic ring, but more often use mesh ring.~~

Apparently that is why revisions are so hard, well... for mesh folks.  High leak risk.

Thanks for the info.  I always wondered why my original surgeon would say "make sure to tell anyone that you have the silastic ring" .. he was alway so adamant about that.. now I know why.  I think it maybe riskier especially for revisions.  whew!  :)

I'm in the process of awaiting approval for a VBG to DS with Dr. Greenbaum in NJ.  He is not doing any RNY to DS revisions.
