Help....am I crazy???
Ok, so in July of 2008, I had the band and lost 75 lbs by Dec then stalled and didn't move till Sept when I had my revision to the VSG. I did well-ish, lost another 65-70 between Sept 2009 and Feb/March 2010 and have not lost a pound since. I still have at least another 100 lbs to go and I'm stuck where a lot of people start..... Am I completely stupid to even be considering consulting an RNY doctor now that my province will cover the cost? Am I expecting too much too fast??? I am just wondering if anyone else out there has had more than one revision and if anyone has a situation like mine.
Any input would be appreciated....thank you!

I had an RNY and revised to a DS. I wouldn't consider revising to an RNY under any cir****tance, if anything I'd probably go from a VSG to DS, but I think it's odd you've stopped losing weight so quickly. Are you eating carbs and/or sugars?

You need to contact Dr. Gagner who is now in Montreal. He is one of the leading revision surgeons and he can help you with your question and if you need the DS part he can do that for you also. Contact TEAZ on the DS board. There are a lot of people going to him now that he is setting up shop in Montreal. Good luck.
I am in Saskatchewan. Do you have to pay out of pocket going to Montreal or will the government healthcare pay for you? I've heard a lot of stuff about DS that scares the life out of me. I guess DS would be the way to go after the VSG but it really scares me...
I hope your surgery goes fantastically well!!
Where in Canada are you??

I was curious about the RNY because where I live the provincial gov't will pay for the RNY but not the DS and I've paid out of pocket for the band and the sleeve. DS would probably be the best way to go, but I have to be honest, it scares the heck out of me. I know someone who has had the DS and has had sooooo many problems with side effects and infection and just a multitude of problems.
Thank you everyone for your suggestions and help :)
