Revision Approved... Questions..
I am scheduled for a revision from RNY to DS... April 26th. I don't have many questions on eating or exercise since I do both pretty good at this point.
My concerns are hair falling out and how much should I expect to lose monthly. My doctor said I will have about a 6 month window before my system gets ":wised up" to what's been done. I really only need to drop about 60 pounds...
Any ideas on how to maximize my weight loss efforts during this 6 months, hints, ideas or suggestions would be great!
Thanks
Shirley
PUSH THE PROTEIN!!!! LIKE OVER 100 GRAMS prior to surgery!!!!
And, unfortunately, anesthesia will ALWAYS have the effect of the hair falling out as well.
But stick to your guns on the protein!!! It helps!!!! Before & after surgery. Protein helps the body heal faster too!!
Good LUCK!!!

I'm looking at the possibility of needing a revision. I've developed hypoglycemia that has been causing seizures... so, we can't have that. Anyway, the did the EGD today and there is no restriction.. "anastomotic dilation" ... anyway, the food is going straight from the esophagus to the intestine. In considering my options I was thinking about RNY to DS, but am wondering which surgeon you are using? I live in College Station so, your "Belton" caught my eye.
Thanks,
Jackie

I'm 2 months out and haven't lost any hair yet. I remember after my RNY it started at 3 months and went to about 7 months. My hair is thick so it was a welcomed relief and the new hair grew back better than the old stuff I lost!
As far as weight loss, protein, protein and more proten and tons of water. You'll do great. Sixty pounds is nothing, it will be off fast. Wish I only had 60lbs to lose!
Best of luck with your surgery,
Debbie
