How soon is too soon to think revision?
CONGRATULATIONS on your amazing weight loss
If you are eating between 1200-1500 calories day and are burning 3500 you will be thin as a pin by the next couple of months.
UNLESS you have a serious metabolic problem. You have to have to have all sorts of tests run with your doctor.
The DS would have been the way to go with the amount you needed to lose BUT you've done fantastic. 172lbs is truly amazing.
Best,
Leila

Perhaps some of us need more than just restrictive surgeries - you've tried one and it hasn't been enough for you. I tried one and it wasn't enough for me either!
As long as you've followed the rules as best you can and given it the time it is supposed to take (and it sounds like you have) it seems silly to wait for some miracle to happen to make you lose the rest of the pounds. So the choice is either settle for what you have or research and see if you want something more.
Only advice is to find a surgeon who does revisions. All of the revisions and none of the gimmicky things that will just waste your time and money

Hi Lesley: Congrats on what you have lost so far. I was over 400lbs and my surgery took me down to 220 and just stopped working. I was able to eat enough to maintain my current 220 lbs and before I knew it I was back up to 268. So I sat back and said well what do I do now? I started researching everything on diet and exercise. I realized I had a tool. I did not feel hunger but I never solved why I was obese in the first place. I was obese because I used food as comfort. I seriously considered another surgery. I thought if I didn't make a lifestyle change it wouldn't help me. The hardest day for me came when I looked in the mirror one morning and told myself the truth. I broke down and cried. I mean on the floor head in hands crying.
This year will be my 10 year anniversary and to this day I struggle every single day with food choices. It is an addicts worse nightmare. The body can live without alcohol, drugs, ciggs but it can't live without food.
I decided to diet and exercise the right way. I said I will give myself 6 months and if it isn't any better then I will look back into a revision. Well 6 months came and went and instead of a revision I had plastic surgery to remove the excess skin. (All 22lbs of it)
Good luck to you and your decision as I know it is hard. Don't ever feel like a failure and do what you need to do for YOU. It appears you are approx 237lbs if you are 172lbs lighter. Great start
If you are eating 1200-1500 calories and working out 60 minutes every single day you should be losing. The stall should only momentary (2 weeks). Try HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) or start lifting weights and reduce the cardio. NEVER cut your calories to 1000 as that person should lose their job. Also, track everything that goes in your mouth you may be surprised. I know I was.
Hang in there!
