Did you have an option of what surgery you should have as a revision to your RNY? I had an RNY in 2004 and now have a leak that needs to be replaced. I'm very concerned about the next surgery....can you offer any advice or suggestions?
Everyone is different. I went wiht Dr. Greenbaum & converted to the DS because I have a body that just loves to hold on to weight. Look for a good revision surgeon and discuss your options, but check out the surgery types and see which one will fit you best. If your RNY is going well, and you want to stick wtih it, you can do that. Repair the leak, convert to an extended RNY, and you're done. If you want conversion to another surgery type, seek out a specialist in that type of revision.
Hi Randy,
I had my RNY to DS revision with Dr. Greenbaum on Aug 2. I am 7 months out and have lost 78 lbs. Medicare paid all of my hospital bill and my out of pocket expenses from what I owed on other bills was about $1500. Good luck with your journey and let me know how you are doing. If you have any other questions, I will be glad to try and help.
