Lately there seem to be a lot of problems with this procedure but all were from the same doctor.  One person had to have her revision surgery revised back to the way it was due to diarrhea, malnutrition, anemia, all kinds of problems.  But I think it was the surgeon more than the surgery type.

How much do you have to lose?

It's not a procedure I care for and I wouldn't do it but many like it.

You know, if you had 50# or so to lose that might be one thing but 100#... I'd be looking at DS.

It's a riskier procedure since they'd have to take your RNY down and then do the DS but long term it's safer than ERNY.

But.. you'd have your functioning stomach back with no worries of dilating your pouch or stoma.

They just to in and bypass more intestine.  I'm not sure of studies and stats for success with ERNY but lower down on this page of threads there is a person that posted something written by her surgeon about this.   I didn't read it but I believe it covers this topic.

Well, Dr. K trolls the boards for business however I understand he's a good surgeon.

It really depends on where YOU are.  I'm going to let a DSer point you in the direction of the list of their approved surgeons.  You CANNOT go to just any surgeon for this procedure, you MUST go to a safe surgeon.  Dr. K is safe, he'sjust  not not very ethical the way he trolls the boards looking for business.

I was just talking to a friend on the phone about 20 minutes ago that told me he was PMing her trying to get her business but since he does not understand her case he didn't realize DS isn't going to fix her paralyzed stomach so she reported him to OH for this behavior.

You are nothing but a trouble maker.  I read your posts whenever I see them and I am not impressed.  Do you not realize that your surgeon pays oh to have a link in your avie?  Do you see that it is a clickable link??

I am not in the market for a re-revision, and Dr K has responded to my posts a couple times, and pm'ed me also.  You ever hear of compassion?? I didn't think so.

Why are you here?

I'm not sure there are any RNY to DS revision surgeons in NYC. Your best bet might be Dr. Greenbaum in NJ. His contact info, as well as the other vetted DS surgeons, can be found on dsfacts.com.

Try posting this on the DS forum for more and better answers.
