Revision from RNy to Extended or Distal RNY

Hi,

Well I had a revision to a distal on Jan 13th. The first few weeks I lost 22 pounds because I wasn't eating. Since I started eating I'm only losing a couple of pounds a month. I truly wish I had a surgeon who would have left me a shorter cc so I would malabsorb more, but unfortunately he only bypassed 250 more cc for me. I also stopped losing weight after 6 months after my first rny, so I think that my body just adjusts more rapidly than others. Good luck to you in whatever you choose and make sure the surgeon you choose will do the surgery that you want how you want it.

Hi Monique:

I was interested to know, if you don't mind sharing, how much is your total weight loss to date?

Actually 2 lbs per month is great if you continue to lose that much who care if it takes a couple years to lose it as long as the scale keeps going down...Good For you!

Hi Janie,
I was 272 at my pre op. A couple of days ago I was 239 when I weighed this morning it was back up to 242. I'm hoping that it was water weight or had something to do with me being sick the last 2 days. So if you're going by 242 it is 30 lbs and if you go by 239 it's 33.

You are such a sweetheart for sharing that information...I think 33 lbs is a great amount of weight to lose and sounds like it's going down all the time...Do you have to work really hard at it? Other than just your diet do you exercise a lot? I need all the helpful hints I can get....Going in on this Wednesday so I'll need to know a lot!

I work out a hour and a half to two hours five days a week. It is usually an hour of weights and an hour of water aerobics on 3 days and on two days it is 30 min on treadmill with inclines up to six and then an hour of water aerobics.

Hi Joyce.  I just read your Revision summary and found it very informative.  It was really good.  I'm researching the pro's and con's of an ERNY with a 75-100 common chanel.

Thanks again!

Tonya
