How do you deal with the feelings of being a loser?

Tulagirl, DO NOT get down on yourself.  I am in exactly the same boat as you.  I had my RNY in 2/02 and went from 285 to 135 (I'm 5'9").  I maintained that loss for over 2 years until we moved out of state.  The weight started to pile back on and I'm not back at 205 and I felt like the biggest failure in the world.  I looked into some surgeons in the Lexington, KY area, none would touch me, saying that my BMI wasn't high enough (guess they didn't know about revision...).  When I moved to Florida in February, I started researching again and found Dr. Overcash.  I was nervous about what he would say when I went to see him because he has a reputation of being very straight-forward.  Well, he is very direct, but he did not tell me anything I didn't already know about myself.  What he DID tell me was that when we had our procedures done in 2002, the 'normal' practice was not as aggressive (they didn't bypass as much) as they are now.  In addition, my pouch is the size of a LARGE grapefruit (about the size of a normal stomach).  Long story short, I am having my revision surgery on 7/2 and have made a personal commitment to do MY part (100%) this time around (I'm not going through this again!) and I WILL be thin 4-ever!!  So, don't beat yourself up over this, and don't be afraid of what the doc will tell you.  He or she will definitely NOT be as hard on you as you are on yourself! Hugs, Missy

Ok, I did it, I made an appointment with a surgeon in our area.  I was told they do revisions and they are at the better hospital in our area.  I see him 7-24-08.  I just have to bring my surgery records and also my upper GI report.  They told me this surgeon likes to do his own endoscopy so he can see what is going on.  I am still nervous and afraid of what they will say.  But I am now determined not to let this get the better of me.  I will keep reading and learning from all of you prior to that time.  The website for the dr said that bypass patients generally have a six month program prior to the surgery to try ot lose weight and see all of the specialist needed.  Does anyone who had a revision know if it is different for revision paitents or do they treat you as a new patient.
